In 2019, JR went to Tehachapi, a Californian prison, where he collected prisoners testimonies, as well as some of the prison staff. Alongside JR's team, they glued the 338 strips of paper that compose the final installation, which could only be pictured by a drone.
The book opens the gates of this high security institution, bringing together the installations, the prisoners testimonies, their portraits, as well as some reproductions of prisoners' letters.
